How to make Grilled Vegetables in a Jar

Vegetables can be made in jars in a variety of ways, including the traditional method of grilling them and the oven method of sauteing them in butter and then roasting them.

The new method uses a steam oven to roast vegetables, but not without a little help from the oven itself.

How to make grilled vegetables in a jar Recipe: Heat a medium pot of water to boiling.

Add the onions, bell peppers, garlic, and carrots and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 8 minutes.

Remove the vegetables from the water and place in a large saucepan.

Bring to a boil over high heat.

Reduce heat to medium-low, and cook until tender.

Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.

Add carrots, peppers, and salt and pepper to taste.

Let cool.

To prepare the cabbage, heat a large skillet over medium heat.

Add 1 tablespoon of oil and add the cabbage and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes, or until cabbage is soft and crisp.

Add 2 tablespoons of water, and add salt and chili powder to taste and season with pepper.

Reduce to medium heat and cook the cabbage until tender and the liquid has evaporated, about 1 to 2 minutes.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and fresh cilantro.

Notes: To make the cabbage a little more delicate, place it in a bowl of boiling water, then add 1/2 cup of water and cook for about 2 minutes, until cabbage has absorbed most of the water.

Parsley leaves are used to make a kind of sweet sauce.

This recipe can be used for soups, stews, salads, or just plain as a main dish.

To serve, sprinkle with parsley or other herbs and garnish with fresh cheddar cheese.
